The object will accelerate with 2.5 #ms^-2#.


According to Newton's second law of motion, the rate of change of momentum of an object is directly proportional to the ofrce applied.
It can also be stated as (Net Force = mass x acceleration).
Thus we have the infamous equation : F = ma.
Putting the given values in the equation for the mass and the force, we have a=2.5 #ms^-2#
Note : All the values must be in the same system of units for this equation to be useful.
