Present is the key to the past :)

Explanation:

Uniformitarianism is nothing but it explains how geological processes take place in nature. It believes that all natural processes go in sequence and not occur as the result of abrupt or sudden changes .For example considering its relation with rock cycle, magma results in igneous rocks After weathering and erosion they will convert into sediments and sedimentary rocks. Further when deep buried in earth's crust under high pressure and temperature conditions they will convert into metamorphic rocks. It wont happen in sudden. You wont get metamorphic rocks the very first day.thanks
