How do you find the domain for a set of points?

We just started this in class today, and the teacher hasn't explained it very well. She gave us a few online assignments for it that I need to finish with a passing grade.
Thanks for helping if you do.

See an attempt at an explanation below:

Explanation:

In the set of ordered pairs the Domain is the set of the first number in every pair (those are the x-coordinates).

The Range is the set of the second number of all the pairs (those are the y-coordinates).

For example, in this set of ordered pairs:

{(-2, 0), (0, 6), (2, 12), (4, 18)}

The Domain Is: {-2, 0, 2 , 4}

The Range Is: {0, 6, 12 , 18}
