He introduced the National Park system and was a precursor of ecology

Explanation:

The Yellowstone national park was opened in 1873, the Yosemite Park was the seconc to be opened. Theodore Roosevelt was the president who created the National Park system that still exists and is run by the National Park service. These parks are run by the Federal Governement and not by the states in which they are located. Theodore Roosevelt was thus a precursor of the environmentalist movement that emerged in the Sixties.
