Tornado up to a mile
Hurricane more than 100 up to almost 1000 miles - Duration
Tornado usually a few minutes up to 3 hours at the most
Hurricane one week to almost 4 weeks
-Wind Speed
Tornado 90-300 miles per hour
Hurricane 73.65mph (64 knots) - 190 mph
Essentially a tornado is more destructive but much much smaller and much shorter duration. A hurricane will cause much more wide spread destruction.
