I) Trees differ due to different temperature conditions:

Taiga is a large biome in more northern very cold regions of North American continent and Eurasia. It is mainly occupied by coniferous trees and the forests are called Boreal type.

Temperate deciduous forests are dominated by broad-leaf trees, where winter is milder compared to taiga region and the summer is humid. The biome occupies comparatively smaller area and such forests are located in both northern and southern hemispheres.

II) Gymnosperm vs Angiosperm

Boreal forest is dominated by conifers i.e. cone bearing gymnosperms .

Temperate deciduous forest is dominated by fruit bearing angiosperms.

III) Evergreen vs Deciduous

Boreal conifers are generally evergreen, the leaves are long and thin. Such leaves withstand snow in the winter. (The trees remain covered in snow during winter.) There are no fall or spring season.

Deciduous forests shed leaves as the winter approaches, hence there is a fall season between summer and winter. Winter is never snowy. As new leaves sprout at the end of winter, a fourth spring season is evident between winter and summer.
