If a bacteria has a diffusion barrier in its capsule, which prevents harmful substances from entering in it, then how do antibiotics affect bacteria?

Antibiotics interfere with the formation of the cell membrane or protein synthesis in the bacterial cell depending on the type. Thus new bacterial cells cannot be formed, and hence when the existing ones doe, there is no more to continue causing the infection.
