For convinces sake lets say f(x) is y:

`y = 5x + 12`

To find the inverse of the function, swap x and y and solve for y again.

`x = 5y + 12`

Subtract 12 on both sides:
`x - 12 = 5y`

Divide by 5:
`y = (x - 12) / (5)`

So `f^(-1)(x) = (x-12)/(5)`
