Well,voltage difference(#V#),current flowing(#I#) and resistance(#R#) of a circuit are related as follows as per Ohm's Law,

#V=IR#

So, if you want to fix the current and then increase the voltage difference to twice the initial value,resistance needs to be made twice as well to get the constant value of current.
