Explanation:

All organisms evolve in very specific ecological niches in which they are well adapted to living in. Having said that, I think that most frogs probably thrive best in shallow marsh, reedy kinds of environments that has suitable egg laying environments and where food (insects) are abundant. It seems unlikely that the middle of a lake would be a suitable habitat, but who knows!
