# Is 0 an irrational number?

A rational number is any number, which can be represented as a fraction $\frac{p}{q}$ where $p$ and $q$ are integers and $q \ne 0$.
$0 = \frac{0}{1}$
In this fraction $p = 0$ and $q = 1$ both numbers are integer and $q \ne 0$ so this representation shows that $0$ is a rational number.
