The length of the rectangle is 24cm and the width is 6cm.

Explanation:

Let $L =$ the length of the rectangle and $W =$the width.

If the length is four times the width, then $L = 4 W$

The formula for perimeter $P$ is $L + L + W + W = P$ or

$2 L + 2 W = P$

Substituting $4 W$ for $L$ and $60$ for $P$

$2 \left(4 W\right) + 2 W = 60$

$8 W + 2 W = 60$

$10 W = 60$

$\frac{10 W}{10} = \frac{60}{10}$

$W = 6 c m$

$L = 4 W = 4 \left(6\right) = 24 c m$
