It depends on what you are doing - sometimes stuff needs to be dry....other times its ok if its wet.

For example, if you are going to add your ascorbic acid solution to a conical flask, and then dilute to a certain volume, it doesn't matter if they flask is wet/dry. Either way will be ok (since you'll be adding water to a specific mark anyway).

If you are weighing something, then it obviously needs to be dry.

If you are putting the ascorbic acid solution into a conical flask to do an experiment with it, then it definitely needs to be dry, since the water in the flask will change the volume slightly, and this will change the concentration.

So it all depends.
