Sulphur molecule contains 8sulphur atoms .so mass of one mole of sulphur must be 8×32=256 is it correct.?

Sounds good to me....of course you must specify the molecularity of the sulfur.

Sulfur is commonly represented as the #S_8# molecule...and perhaps this is one of the reasons for the brick-like solubility of this material in most solvents.

Please note that sometimes we might ignore this molecularity...for instance, phosphines, #PR_3#, are often high boiling, air-sensitive liquids that are hard to handle. In order to characterize the phosphine, we could oxidize it with sulfur, and the crystalline, air stable #R_3P=S# species could be analyzed by elemental analysis and melting point...i.e.

#R_3P + S rarr R_3P=S#...and we write this rather than...

#R_3P +1/8S_8 rarr R_3P=S#
