The walls of the heart are made of what tissue?

Walls of heart are made up of myocardium, the striated but involuntary cardiac muscle tissue.


Cardiac muscle tissue is made up of ribbon shaped uninuclear cells. There are cytoplasmic connections between adjacent cells at areas called intercalated discs. Hence cardiac muscle cells form functional syncytium.
