The actions of the United Kingdom in taking American sailors and cargos, angered the United States. The war hawks wanted to use the actions of the United Kingdom to declare war on the United Kingdom. The War Hawks felt that the United States could win another war against England with the help of the French as during the American Revolution. The glittery prize of taking Canada made going to war against the United Kingdom desirable.
