#0.7" hours" = 42" minutes"#

Explanation:

There are 60 minutes in 1 hour.

What we wish to calculate here is 0.7 of 60 minutes.

#color(orange)"Reminder " color(red)(bar(ul(|color(white)(2/2)color(black)(0.7=7/10)color(white)(2/2)|)))#

#rArr7/10xx60/1=7/cancel(10)^1xxcancel(60)^6/1#

#=(7xx6)/(1xx1)=42#

To convert hours → minutes

#color(red)" multiply fraction of hour by 60"#

The most straight forward ratio you could multiply by is

#("minutes")/("hours") -> 60/1 -=# minutes per hour

Explanation:

The only ratio I can think of is

#("minutes")/("hours") -> 60/1 -=# minutes per hour.

#=> 0.7/0.7xx60/1 = 42/0.7 "#

So for 0.7 of 1 hour we have 42 minutes

I do not wish to confuse you by showing how the units of measurement works to give you just 'minutes' but for now just accept that it does
