Water is an extremely weak electrolyte and therefore cannot conduct electricity. Why are we often cautioned not to operate electrical appliances when our hands are wet?
Please look below for the answer:
This is because the water which we use on daily basis contains minerals which can conduct electricity nicely and as human body is also a good conductor of electricity,we can get an electric shock.
The water which cannot or conducts a negligible amount of electricity is distilled water( pure water,Its different from what we use daily). It is used mainly in labs for experiments.
I hope it helps.Good luck.
