There are moral and political arguments.

Explanation:

Morally it can be argued that the level of human suffering caused by the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki relative to anything which had gone before was so great, it was morally indefensible. The suffering was not confined to the immediate aftermath, but has lasted for decades.

Politically it set a precedent for a new type of warfare which had and has the capacity to destroy the world. Also it encouraged the development of nuclear weapons by other countries.

Finally when the bomb was dropped on Hirboshima, no one knew what the consequences would be. Tests had been carried out in the Nevada desert but the actual use of such a weapon was a gigantic leap into the unknown.
