What are brassinosteroids?

Brassinosteroids are naturally occurring plant hormones that regulate plant growth. In short, they tell a plant to grow.

Without them, the plant just will not respond to other hormones that the plant produces.

Using this hormone in various ways has increased crop production in wheat and rice so that there is greater crop yields.

Below is the scientist who is investigating this hormone. He has one plant that is exposed to normal levels of brassinosteroids and one which is a mutant and will not respond to it.
