# What are the x and y intercepts of 2x=-13y+12?

Oct 25, 2015

Put x = 0, you will get the y intercept
In this equation if we put x = 0 we get
$0 = - 13 \cdot y + 12$
or $13 \cdot y = 12$ ie $y = \frac{12}{13}$

put y = 0, you will get the x intercept
In this equation if we put y = 0 we get
$2 x = 0 + 12$
or $2 \cdot x = 12$ ie $x = 6$

So the x and y intercept of the lines are, 6 & 12 / 13
