What causes cataract?

Generally cataracts form when people age or there are injuries to the eye which causes the tissue of the eye to change.

There are also some inherited, genetic disorders which cause other health problems and this can increase your risk of cataracts.

Other causes of cataracts inclued other eye conditions, previous eye surgery or medical conditions such as diabetes.

Additionally, long-term use of steroid medications are known to cause cataracts to develop.
