Industrial growth

Explanation:

Industrial Growth in the USA meant new resources were needed and new markets had to be created. These factors were common to European imperialism, indeed corporations pushed for such policies for their own benefits. It is no coincidence that US Imperialism emerged after the so-called "Gilded Age". It is an illustration of what Lenin called "Supreme stage of Capitalism". Corporatism thus implied Imperialism. Imperialism was a major twist and betrayal of what America was founded upon- liberty and the rejection of a tyrannical empire.
