-A period of prosperity known as the Roaring Twenties. It was depicted by Fitzegerald in his novel "The Great Gatsby"
-Eugenics and the KKK were very trendy. Racist theories were very influential and the KKK had over 5 million members.
-Women were partly emancipated and given the right to vote in 1920.
-Consumer society emerged in a certain extent and the standard of living increased nevertheless 60% of the population remained poor especially among the working class, minorities and rural areas
-Prosperity ended in 1929 after the Black Thursday in October and the Great Depression started.
