Sort of Cold War.

Explanation:

Briefly, in 1947, the world was experiencing a f low of ideologically different ideas from various political blocks which had vast power throughout the globe making an impact on many countries due to their influence.

Communism and capitalism battle is a crystal clear example. After enduring two world wars which brought about lots of consequences that encouraged the start of uncountable changes of ideas. And governments were not an exemption.

Political parties had to decide whether to take part in communist or capitalist decisions .

This precise problem took place in Korea[South and North] in the 50's and also before (they were already allies of USA team and Soviet Union, respectively).

'South Korea' tossed the coin in favour of the capitalist block whilst 'North Korea', to the communists. This situation is largely noticed until nowadays.

The elections sponsored by the United Nations took place in South Korea but were blocked in North Korea.

Explanation:

At the end of World War II Japanese troops that had controlled all of Korea were defeated. Russian troops occupied North Korea, while the US troops occupied South Korea. There was suppose to be an election for all of Korea to establish a government for all of Korea.
The election took place in South Korea electing a democratic government. The election did not take place in North Korea and a communistic government was imposed by the occupying Russians.

The establishment of two rival governments each occupying half the nation created great tension. The government of the North wanted to unite the entire nation under one government which the people of Korea wanted. The South wanted free elections throughout the entire nation which the South felt that they would win.

After United Nation vote, the US forces pulled out most its forces leaving South Korea and independent democratic nation. In North Korea, the Russians armed and trained the North Korea army. The militarization of North Korea by Russia increased the tension in the area.
