Pulsating variable stars

It is special class of variable stars which changes in both brightness and size. One example is the Polaris which is located in the constellation Little Dipper. It changes from bright to dim and back to bright in four days.

Pulsating variable stars are referred to Cepheid variable because the very first pulsating variable star is discovered in a group of stars called Cepheus.
