It is a integral that does not have a solution that can be represented using standard functions, for example the integral:

$I = \int \setminus {e}^{{x}^{2}} \setminus \mathrm{dx}$

Such integrals can only be found using either power series, or numerical approximations (in the case of a definite integral).
