A stomach ulcer is a type of sore that is formed on the stomach, esophagus, or intestines. It is very common, and is formed when stomach acid damages this lining. Pain in your abdomonen could be a sign of this, and it can be treated with antibiotics.

Normally, the stomach is lined with thick layer of mucus to protect the stomach from the effect of the digestive acids. When this linning or layer reduced ( due to infection"h.pylori" or drugs"NSAIDS" the digestive acids eat away at the stomach, causing a sore\ ulcer and giving rise to its different symptoms. This ulcer can be cured, but with neglect can become very severe
