# How do you solve -2.1y-3=-1.8?

Sep 28, 2014

$- 2.1 y - 3 = - 1.8$

adding $3$ to both sides we get;

$- 2.1 y - 3 + 3 = - 1.8 + 3$

$- 2.1 y = 1.2$

dividing both sides by $- 2.1$

$\frac{- 2.1 y}{-} 2.1 = \frac{1.2}{-} 2.1$

$y = - \frac{1.2}{2.1}$

$y = - \frac{0.4}{0.7}$
