What is an amphibian?
Amphi=Two, Bios=Life. The organisms which can survive both in water and on land are called amphibians.
Amphibians are members of the class Amphibia.
Amphibians are members of the class Amphibia. They are characterized by being ectothermic, four-limbed vertebrates that live in entirely in water for one part of their life and entirely on land for another part of their life. They have skin that is permeable and have gills for at least a portion of their life.
Examples include frogs, salamanders and newts.
