What is phase angle?

Phase angle basically measures angular displacement of two points or objects considering their motion to be a part of circle.
As for example if two particles A and B are at a linear separation of d , then considering d to be an arch of a big circle,we join each of A and B ' s position which makes an angle `theta`at the centre of the circle and if the radius of the circle is r, we say d=r`theta` here `theta` is the angular displacement or phase angle
So, angular displacement or phase angle is measured w.r.t a fixed point.
