Photoelectric effect is the process of ejection of electrons from a metal by shining EM wave (Photons) on it.

Einstein gave the explanation for the Photoelectric effect :-

`1)` Photon particles collide with the atom on metal surface.

`2)` These particles when collide with electrons transfer their energy to these electrons and , the electron is ejected from the metal surface. The ejected electron is known as Photoelectron.
