What is the axis of symmetry and vertex for the graph #y= 5x^2-x#?

Axis of symmetry: x=0.1
Vertex: (0.1, -0.05)


Whenever I solve quadratics, I check if the quadratic crosses y=0. You can check this by solving for #0 = 5x^2 -x # . You should get two answers (When solving for the square root). Average those answers, and you'll get the axis of symmetry. Plug in the X value for the axis of symmetry back into the original equation and you can solve for the y-value of the vertex.
