# What is the axis of symmetry of the graph of y=3x^2+6x+4?

Apr 29, 2015

The equation given to us is in the Standard form
$y = a {x}^{2} + b x + c$ where $a = 3 , b = 6 \mathmr{and} c = 4$

The Axis of Symmetry is given by the formula $x = - \frac{b}{2 a}$

$x = - \frac{6}{2 \cdot 3}$

$x = - \frac{6}{6} = - 1$

color (green)( x = -1 is the Axis of Symmetry of the Parabola with the equation $y = 3 {x}^{2} + 6 x + 4$
