Protein is a macro-molecule made up of large number of amino acids held together by peptide bond.

Explanation:

Protein is basically a polypeptide molecule. There are 20 amino acids that are constituent of protein molecule. Different amino acids are held together by peptide linkages . Amino group of one amino acid and carboxyl group of next amino acid react together to form NH-CO bond (peptide linkage), with the removal of water.

The amino acids are held together in chain in specific sequence as determined by the sequence of codons in DNA molecule. Thus indefinite types of proteins can be formed by only 20 constituent amino acids.
