What is the domain and range of #f(x) =sqrt(8.5 − 3 x)#?

Here,
The function f(x) is only defined when 8.5-3x #>= # 0

SO,

-3x #>= # -8.5

Multiplying both sides with - .

or, 3x #<= # 8.5

or, x #<= 8.5/3 #

So domain of F(x) is x #<= 8.5/3 #

Now since you can only put value x #<= 8.5/3 # and when you put the maximum value i.e. #8.5/3# , you get 0 which means the lesser values you add the more you will get.

So the range of F(x) is f(x) #>=# 0.
