Transports oxygen and ${\text{CO}}_{2}$.

#### Explanation:

Haemoglobin (protein + iron ) is present in the red blood cells. Its function :

1. Transporting oxygen from two lungs to all body cells; in the lungs, haemoglobin combines with oxygen to form pale red oxyhaemoglobin. Then, oxyhaemoglobin carries oxygen to all body parts and leaves oxygen in the cells and changes into haemoglobin..

2. Transporting ${\text{CO}}_{2}$: haemoglobin combines with ${\text{CO}}_{2}$ in the body cells to form dark red carbo-aminohaemoglobin, which carries ${\text{CO}}_{2}$ to two lungs where it leaves ${\text{CO}}_{2}$ and changes into haemoglobin.
