The primary function of the gall bladder is to store bile.

Explanation:

At any given time 30 to 60 ml of bile is stored within the gall bladder.

The absorbent lining of the gallbladder concentrates the stored bile by removal of water and electrolytes. This happens due to the active transport of sodium ions across the epithelia of the gall bladder. It creates an osmotic pressure that causes water and other electrolytes such as chloride to be reabsorbed.
