South Africa is a Republic using a Parliamentary System with a written Constitution. A President is elected by the Parliament.

South Africa a has a bicameral Legislature of a National Assembly (Lower House) elected by proportional voting and a National Council of Provinces (Upper House) which is voted on by members elected to the Government of each Province.

Voting system is by Party List Proportional Representation. The votes are counted and the Party is given a number of representatives that are declared elected from lists provided by that Party.
