The Great Dark Spot is an anticyclonic storm.

Explanation:

You may have seen pictures of Neptune and wondered what that dark spot was. The Great Dark Spot is actually an anticyclonic storm, like the ones on Jupiter. This storm is 8,100 miles long by 4,100 miles wide with wind speeds of up to 1,500 mph. However, it disappeared before the Hubble Space Telescope could photograph it again in 1994. Luckily for us, a new spot has appeared in the Northern Hemisphere. This new spot, called the Northern Great Dark Spot, has been in existence for a few years now.
