Now we can raise the denominator 4 to 4,8,color(red)12,16,20,color(red)24,28,32,color(red)36,... by multiplying it by 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,.... and so on.

Similarly 6 can be raised to 6,color(red)12,18,color(red)24,30,color(red)36,42,.... by multiplying it by 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,,.... and so on.

and common denominators are 12,24,36,.... and 12 is the color(red)("Least Common Denominator.")

Now we can convert 1/4=(1xx3)/(4xx3)=3/12

and 5/6=(5xx2)/(6xx2)=10/12

and now we can compare, add or perform subtraction on them.
