What is the most important object in the solar system?

Depending on what the word "importance" mean, it is either the Sun or the Earth .


With no clear definition for what is meant by "importance", it is not easy to answer this question unambiguously. Depending on what our focus is, we can choose between the two:

[1] The Sun : Sun contains more than 99% of the entire mass of the solar system, gravitationally dominates the solar system and can be seen as the most important object.

[2] The Earth: Alternatively, Earth can be seen as the most important object because it is the only object that hosts life. Not only does life exist here but thrives. Earth is an oasis in solar system which otherwise is a lifeless desert.
