Egg is released at the mouth of fimbriated end of fallopian tube by a process called ovulation and thus begins its journey in female reproductive tract.
Explanation:
Egg gets fertilised, after getting into fallopian tube, by sperms. Fertilised egg then slowly travels towards uterus. The fertilised egg starts dividing as well. Thus by the time it reaches uterus it becomes a blastocyst.
About 7 days after fertilisation, the early embryo, nothing more than a ball of cells (0.1 to 0.2 mm in diameter), become implanted within the endometrial layer of uterus.
