Explanation:

So (i) measure the mass, and (ii) measure the volume, and then take the quotient.

Of course, the mass is easy to measure. The volume is a little harder to assess, especially if it is an irregularly shaped solid, however, volume displacement of a liquid would be a quite feasible means.
