Clearly we have to distinguish between #SO_4^(2-)# and #Cl^-#...

And so trying adding #Ba(NO_3)_2#...(note that nitrates are generally (almost universally) soluble given the charge density of the anion.)

#Ba^(2+) +SO_4^(2-)rarr underbrace(BaSO_4(s)darr)_"insoluble sulfate"#...zinc sulfate is soluble....

And treat with silver nitrate, #AgNO_3(aq)#....

#Ag^+ + Cl^(-) rarr AgCl(s)darr#..zinc chloride is soluble...

Silver chloride forms a VERY insoluble, curdy white precipitate.
