Trachea or windpipe, is a tube that starts from the end the mouth, upper respiratory system and extends all the way to the bronchial tree. Trachea is the pathway through which the air travels to the lower respiratory system, bronchial tree, lungs, and aveloli. Trachea connects the upper respiratory system to the lower respiratory system.
