No body knows. Ultimate fate means time ends, but does it really end?

Explanation:

Ultimate fate means time ends and there it ends, Beyond there nothing happens, but why? Does time really end and everything becomes still. Yes, ultimate fate does mean so. No body knows about it.

According to one theory, universe started from with a big bang and continues to expand. But till when and to what stage?

According to another, we have an expanding but steady state universe, where universe does not get less dense as new bodies continue to be created between space. Agan where does it end?

Another theory believed that universe started as a primordial egg, exploded with a bang, continues to expand and then at a stage, it will start collapsing again and finally back into a primordial egg. The egg will again explode, starting the process again ad unverse will continue to oscillate this way.

The present empirical evidence is that the universe will end in a thermodynamic heat death.

Explanation:

The supernova studies of 1997 and 1998 provided empirical evidence that the rate of the expansion of the universe is increasing. This means that the universe will not recycle. There will be no big crush resulting in another big bang.

As the universe continues to expand matter will continue to spread out and become more diffused. Matter will turn into energy more than energy turns into matter. Matter will eventually disappear, only energy will be left. Energy will move according the the second law of thermodynamics from higher level of energy to a lower level of energy. This is an an increase in entropy. Eventually a maxium level of entropy will be reached where there is no useable energy.

A universe with no matter and no useable energy will be dead. This is the heat death of universe. The universe had a beginning it will have an ending. This means that the universe of matter and energy is not eternal, self existent, or a closed system.
