The usual term is genocide.

Explanation:

The most famous example would be the Holocaust where at least 6 million European Jews were systematically liquidated by the Germans and their allies.

Other examples would be the killing of over 1 million Armenians by Turkey during World War 2 and the killing of the Tutsi by the Hutu on several occasions in Rwanda for example between 500,000 and 1 million in 1994.
