A divergent boundary is located at a mid ocean ridge.

Explanation:

Lava and magma comes to the surface at the mid ocean ridges. The lava forms new crust that pushes out in both directions away from the mid ocean ridge.

It is thought that this is because of convection current in the mantle that brings heat to the surface at the mid ocean ridges and then moves sideways before the convection current goes down at the convergent boundaries that form deep ocean trenches.
