Quadrant 1 on a graph is where any coordinate where the x and y value is positive.

This image shows the coordinate values and where those values will land you. Positive x and y gets you into Quadrant 1(top right), negative x and positive y lands you in quadrant 2(top left), negative x and negative y lands you in quadrant 3(bottom left), finally a positive x and a negative y will land you in quadrant 4(bottom right).

If you ever are confused what will be where, just think logically about what a positive/negative x/y value means. If an x is positive, it moves right, and negative left. If the y value is positive it moves up, and negative down.
